GBA School Board's Closure Letter
Dear GBA Families,
It is with a heavy heart and many hours of prayer that the GBA School Board has concluded that it is no longer financially possible to continue the operation of GBA. The overriding factor in this decision has been a continued decline in enrollment over the last five years.
If you have already registered for the 2015-2016 school year, please contact the school office regarding the refund procedure. An informative meeting will be held on Thursday, April 30th at 6:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
We are extremely grateful for the dedication of past and present staff, parents, and volunteers that have made GBA what we all know and love. We are committed to facilitating a smooth transition for all involved, working to arrange options for students, faculty, and staff. We understand the pain and disappointment this decision can bring to members of our academy family, and we share a deep sense of loss as well. We will continue to pray for God’s direction as you transition to another school.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Interim Administrator's Closing Remarks
Dear GBA parents,
I understand the school board’s decision to close GBA is disappointing and presents the challenge of finding a new school for your children. The staff and I share the same deep sense of sadness and loss you all are experiencing. I personally want each of you to know that every effort has been made this year to try to keep GBA open. However, with a fifth straight year of decline in enrollment, it was clear to the board that it was financially unsustainable to operate GBA any longer.
The GBA staff and I realize that change can be difficult for parents as well as for students. I want to assure you that all of us are committed to making the last few weeks of school and the transition to your child new school as normal, productive, and positive as possible.
When I came to enroll my son for Pre-K in 2001, I had no idea that I would end up working here for the next 14 years, but God did. I know He was directing my path. There were times I wanted to run from the building screaming, but there were far more times when I thanked God He chose to put me on this path. I have seen many changes over the years, but the one thing that has been constant is the love for and dedication to the GBA students. Thousands of preschoolers and students have come through these doors over the past 40 years. In addition to receiving a Christian education by a wonderful staff, these students have had many, many prayers said on their behalf as well as the eternal Word of God instilled in their hearts and minds on a daily basis. For me, the privilege of teaching a child to read and to read the Scriptures for themselves for the first time was my greatest joy.
During times of change, we must turn our hearts to Our Lord Jesus for guidance and direction. His wisdom is my great comfort. In Ecclesiastes, the Lord tells us that there is a season for everything and nothing takes Him by surprise. Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I know the Lord has good things planned for our precious GBA students and staff. And, I know without a doubt that I will surely miss working with a great staff and seeing the students’ faces each and every day. The GBA family will be forever in my heart.
Love, light, and blessings on your new journey,
Mrs. Hodges, Interim Administrator
